HINDU UPBRINGING ALWAYS SECULAR!

HINDU UPBRINGING ALWAYS SECULAR!

Ever since I got my consciousness I found my self a Hindu like millions of other Hindus.  My family, my house ambiance, relatives, family functions, religious ceremonies, the environs around me, the temple we go regularly provided me the opportunity to learn what  is all Hindu about.  However my early schooling remained a heart burn for me. It gave me such a pain at a very young age which now slowly overlooking it, in the backdrop of a prudent approach to life.

My Grand Ma and my Mom shaped me more than the school. We belong to the typical middle class family. A Hindu, despite his persuasive surroundings, will start probing his religion, questions the rituals, Gods, Goddesses, and what not? However for most of these probing questions we get answers, but the age was not mature enough to assimilate the answers. The qualms would remain for the next few years till we reach an age of mellowness.  Once, along the growing age, if we are fortunate enough to acquire cogent thinking we would end up in valuing  the great canons of Hinduism, its concept behind worship of every living creature, rivers, trees, flora and fauna, snakes, rodents and what not? Or else, we end up sadly, self depreciating self biters.

The absence of a single holy book provided great scope for growing Hindus for his open-minded and secular outlook with an inbuilt spiritualism. Otherwise the single point orientation would have programmed our brains in a reserved direction.

Despite this Hindu upbringing which is almost similar in every Hindu family, majority in their adulthood turned out to be neutral or just religious, or rationalist, communists, atheists, but rarely a religious bigot.

Now a Hindu accepts the whole universe is manifestation of GOD. In other sense it is nothing but ADVAITA. To put it precisely GOD is nowhere else, but the entire creation it self is GOD.  That’s what science has proved now –the big bang! Our puranic story “the churning of milky ocean” is the big bang theory told symbolically. This concept ingrained in Hindus allows him/her to visit a Church, a Dargah, or a Gurudwara besides innumerable temples. But he least expects that he/she be forced to convert to other faiths by coercion, sentiment or by allurement.

For this reason alone in general a Hindu will not rage in anger against the insults heaped out on Hindu Gods and Goddesses by the pseudo intellectuals, pseudo artists, and pseudo secular media. In a way GODS can not be insulted.

GODS are (plural usage connotes different faiths) above divinity and can not be insulted by a man.  How Allah, Christ, Ram, Sita Devi, could be insulted, they being GODS AND GODESSES? When we hear news of insulting or blasphemy acts by some lunatics it is the HUMANS who are insulted not the GODS. The insult is felt for self. Our ego and self esteem would be at stake not the God’s.

In the course of spreading this universal secret, Hinduism evolved with idol worship. The idols are not inert objects but a vibrant force in it, augmenting the idol slowly in to the divinity by our sheer trust.

Hindus visit several temples, several temples dedicated to several deities. An animal, a predator, a tree, a plant, amphibians etc besides Humans. Those who denounce idol worship, those who ridicule idol worship are themselves at one point of time or other would have worshipped some IDOL if not our idol.

Dr Karunanidhi now worshiping the idols of Annadurai,  Mr Karath, Mr Yechuri the idols of MARX. What is the difference is- the contemporary great souls would be tomorrows GODS!.  Yester years Shirdi Baba now to-day’s GOD, and similarly to-day’s Puttaparthi Baba, is tomorrow’s GOD, and to-day’s Gandhi tomorrow’s GOD!

My Grandma narrated me several stories from scriptures. I enjoyed every bit of it. I enjoyed every story told, I enjoyed every event narrated. First it was popular Ramayana with all virtues of family relationships, brotherly affection, monogamy, respecting parents and so on. Later the Mahabharata, where every human emotion, relations, temperaments, jealousy, hatred, revenge, love, affection, and all souped in to one great epic.

Later it was Upanishads where man’s thinking of this great mystic creation and our interpersonal relations and emotions were codified in spiritual format.

Most of the religious beliefs in Hinduism were shaped just to keep this country united, the society to strengthen.

Many religious beliefs of to-day are but an attempt for integration of different communities, protection of environment, flora and fauna, ecosystem and everything in the name of religion. You caution people that

It is GOD, then it will be GOD for ever and protected for ever. The Banyan Tree, The Pipal Tree, The snakes, the Monkeys, the rodents etc.

When my grandma said one who visits Rameswaram at the southern tip of this great Jamboodweepam, should also visit Benaras before his death. This is nothing but to make you travel all parts of India and get to know your own people.

  1. What Mr Salman Khan is facing in Rajastan is not just a trial for violating a law that protects the wild life, but it is part of the sentiments of local peoples, for whom the BLACK BUCK is god. Our ancient sages have imparted that fear upon them to protect the wild animals.

Coming back to my early schooling which gave me such a pain was my schooling in a ChristianSchool in Hyderabad. It was MB School, in Mushirabad X Roads. I realized that it was nothing short of fanaticism. I was in my 3rd standard I remember! We dress up to school in uniform but with our own tilak on our foreheads. This is enough to cause rage in the school children.

The moment I enter in to the school, children use to catch me up at the gate and tore my notebooks the covers of which were with Hindu Gods pictures and wipe our tilak on my fore head. I was once slapped and dragged to church in the precincts. Forcible prayer in churches was usual thing in that school.

I found only this particular school was such a fanatic one but the St Mary School at Secunderabad where I studied my second standard just then, was reasonably different.

Now if I recollect these events I only pity them for their ignorance as my initial hurt and rage has since been turned in to a matured mellowness for that just reason of HINDU UPBRINGING.

Thus, secularism should abridge a mutual trust and respect between Hindus and non-Hindus, but should not end up bashing one community alone for numerical reason. A Hindu should be admired where he should be, particularly by non-Hindus, and visa versa, for a peaceful co-existence.

Reverse Justice-Hindu annihilation endangers the very existence of India!

Reverse Justice-Hindu annihilation endangers the very existence of India!

Secularism can not be a biased or prejudiced concept. Nor secularism was the sole invention of non-Hindus. But for the millions of Hindus wholehearted approval of secular constitution, India would have remained till date an autocratic country.

The pre independent India’s bloody communal killings might have weakened the psyche of this nation particularly that of Hindus. Notwithstanding the mass killings of Hindus during the Direct Action Day in Bengal, provoked by communal Jinnah, Hindus themselves felt ashamed of it, and the defeat psyche further deepened in the minds of Hindus in the coming days.

The cause for this mind-set can be linked to the weak psyche of Jawaharlal Nehru, and Mahatma Gandhi as well, as the mighty fierce Jinnah had had a terrible effect on them.

Surprisingly, contrary to this frame of mind,  Sardar Patel took a bold decision and sent army to the erstwhile Nizams state of Hyderabad and got the sate accede to the Indian Republic.

The pertinent question that would arise in our minds immediately would be “Was ever Sardar Patel termed as Communal for the action he took against a Muslim predominant state of Hyderabad?

Such a debate never arose and never ever discussed on these lines later on in Indian Media!

This line of positive approach if the then leaders had adopted in action de-facto, in every sphere of our Democracy, then India would have probably prospered and developed much ahead of what it is now.

A criminal is criminal a sage is a sage whether he belongs to Hindu or Muslim. But trends changed very badly for the worst.  Pseudo secularism further hit this democracy on the nerve and caused a bleeding injury. The recent communal violence in different parts of the country is a direct result of the reverse justice.

Thousands of examples can be quoted in support of Reverse Justice, but suffice if two major ones are quoted now.

Deferring the execution of Afzal Guru, and the recent Delhi High Court’s verdict in the case of M.F Hussain are two momentous turning points in our secular democracy.

The chief reason behind this perturbed psyche is, the false division of our people in to Majority and Minority.

This division on the basis of numbers of Religious groups connotes a false feeling that Majority mean mighty and minority mean meek.

There after there was never ever a stopping for this psyche which has grown in to a monstrous proposition till date, up to the point of the recent Orissa Violence and Kashmir imbroglio.

On the other hand Hindus took this pseudo-ism, very supportively despite the fact that such a false secularism is against the very tenets of the constitution. Probably Hindus never revolted against this pseudo secularism mainly for two reasons.

The bloody partition’s gory memories were still fresh in our minds.

Secondly Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination, as he fell to the bullets fired from a Hindu fanatic. All these culminated in to a Psyche of defeatism among the majority community.

However what has been believed to be a scarifies on the part of Hindus, for better co habitation of all the religious sects across India, turned out to be an arrow fired but reversed.

Now Hindus are at the receiving end from all quarters of our democracy including the Judiciary. Hindus are handed over frequently, “Reverse Justice” in every front.

There is a reverse racism; it is a bitter pill for the whites now in the US.

There is a reverse secularism in India but it is yet to get recognition in the highly biased atmosphere.

Reverse Justice is part of Pseudo-secularism.

Pseudo secularism is nothing but guarding minorities at any cost, blaming the majority, even for a trivial cause. This tendency has resulted in our two way approach to secularism

Direct appeasement of minority:

In which every action of the people belonging to the minority community is defended, irrespective of its rightness or otherwise, under our Constitution.

In-direct appeasement of minority:

In which the target community is the majority, where every opportunity is well used for bashing the Majority community in order to please the minority.

The so called secular political outfits and the Media are two chief executants of this trend.

The unprecedented and unchecked freedom enjoyed by the so called Secular Intellectuals and the Media has now reached a u-turn.

The Jammu and Kashmir unrest has two faces. The one is that of a Muslim and the other is of a Hindu.

When the Kashmiri Muslims went on riot objecting the handing over of land for temporary use by Hindu pilgrims, the government came down to its knees and reversed the order. But when Hindus went on protest, till date there is no concrete steps has been taken by the Government to assuage the ill feelings of the Hindus. This is Reverse Justice.

In the recent Delhi High Court verdict on the issue of derogatory paintings of Hindu Gods and Goddessess by M F Husain, the court went in favor of the Minority defendant against the Majority’s prosecution.

The killing of a Hindu Guru, Laxmananada Saraswathi in Orissa, who was engaged for the betterment of the Tribal’s was shot dead along with other 3 inmates of the ashram! Not a single news paper nor the so called intellectuals or politicians condemned the attack!  Sri Laxmananda Saraswathi was neither a terrorist nor an anti national by any means. This is Reverse Justice.

The Media and the Intellectuals are maintaining stoic silence over the open support extended to the SIMI by the Samajwadi party and RJD to the SIMI. This is Reverse Justice. Now it is the turn of Mr Ram Vilas Paswan who now openly supports illegal immigration of Bangladeshi Muslims in to India for their votes!

Finally we have reached a stage that our so called secular Government is now moving slowly against terrorism and touching softly on the terrorists!

RAM SETHU –GOD AWAITING UPA GOVERNMENT’S CLEMENCY- 09-05-2008

Dr Subramanya Swamy keep your good work going on!

Our secularism is wicked. Not just wicked but wretched too! For the past well over 60 years we have unmindfully surrogate ourselves with crooked Marxists, self styled and self proclaimed Intellectuals. They were beating the drums of secularism facing one side of the Nation ignoring the other side. As a result our intellectuals came under a fear cloud. Every word spoken against Hindus, every rhetoric and caricature against Hindus were acclaimed as Secularism and any support to any form to any genuine grievance of Hindus were dubbed as communal. This off late has grown in to a fear psychosis. This fear grips not only the media, and public forums but even the highest bodies.

The more you outburst against Hindus and Hindu sentiments the more the chances you are acclaimed as secular.

Dr Swamy was questioned “are you visiting the site (Ramar Sethu) and offering worships”?

The news got an extensive coverage. The so called intellectuals and Secular preachers probably would have felt immense satisfaction and have full faith in our “secular judiciary”.

Now Dr Swamy has since put the things properly expressed his torment and wondered how no evidence been sought for, nor the beliefs were questioned in the case of Hazrathbal and Babri Masjid issue.

Once mortified then things would move in its proper direction. Now the Apex court has directed the Government to look in to the Historical aspects of Ram Sethu before taking any further decision on the issue.

Sorry Lord Ram, you are always at the mercy of our Constitution.

Thanks Dr Swamy for your relentless efforts for the cause of Hindus Self pride and respect.

CRUELTY TO ANIMALS IN INDIA!

A pug dog wears a hat during a dog fashion show in Tokyo. *FILE*

What’s going on in our country!

Cruelty to Animals –the Vodafone TV ad-The crying babies during film shooting? The youngsters dropping dead on hot high way’s during Police Recruitment physical endurance tests?

Let us all extend our support to the activism against cruelty meted out to animals by humans chiefly for two reasons. To prove ourselves the fact that we are HUMANS and secondly the animals which suffer mostly are not wild ones. They were the unfortunate ones who got trapped in the human dwellings and hence miserably hapless.

We see animals particularly Dogs, Cats, Pigs etc were much scared of humans rather than its own fellow animals. A couple of dogs fight among themselves for the litter and left over’s near by a function, but natural. I have come across stray dogs at the very sight of me in my colony fold its tail beneath, and walk slowly and quietly along side of the road. I watched it after it crossed over me, it picked up speed then. I vouch for the fact that I never ever picked up a stone and ever thrown on it. I never had such a dubious reacord at this age so embarrassing is not it? But why then this fear?

Is animals are so afraid of humans! Yes certainly!

Probably humans in India are scarier to our animals than anywhere in the world.  No amount of terror or horror would match.  Undoubtedly the Indian Bulls (not the temple bulls the luckiest among animals in India) dragging the carts in our villages and towns were the piteous creatures on planet earth!

While driving in the city of Hyderabad I witnessed a number of bullock carts with the loads of iron bars on their shoulders, trembling, shivering, parching skin, and dropping froth, with a long dried up mark of eye drops passing through the body down.

A couple of years back in Chennai during a film shooting dozens of horses were burnt alive due to sheer negligence of the crew.

In Andhra Pradesh dozens of Monkeys were found dead in and around a colony apparently due to poisoning. The inmates unable to control the menace of monkeys cleverly fed them food mixed with poison. We worship Monkey as God Hanuman. Ha!

The list is endless and perennial too.

Now I welcome the charges made against Vodafone Publicity (the much popular TV ad) for cruelty meted out to the mascot pug. I do not know exactly the amount of cruelty or other sorts of physical exhaustion subjected to the dog during shooting, but they denied it as usual. This charge may be a trivial one, but lets us  take a leap here in order to protect theses dumb animals from the cruelty at the hands of humans.

Another aspect I would like to make a mention here perhaps related to Human Rights rather animal rights.

In Indian Movies we might have witnessed a number of scenes where the babies were held in hand and the melodrama continues for nearly 15 to 20 minutes dragging the child both by the mother on one side, and the rest of villains like in-laws, southeli maa, the real maa, and so on.

Even in calm and quite scenes through out, the baby would be crying and yelling but still you can not make out. The reason is clever editing. We can imagine how much of total rushes and shooting time they would have spent in total or even days shooting the baby by repeatition. How cruel are our own fellow humans towards these hapless babies for the sake of entertainment?

Now let us turn our attention to the young and would be veer Sepoy  and  Jawans of India.

Innumerable stories of youngsters dropping dead in the hot scorching and blazing Sun, on the running-way during physical endurance test. For the sake of a job, they gave their life so early.

We remain a mute witness to this abuse. I wonder how our Indian youth is enduring enough to run 5 km distance when their nutrition intake is palpably low. It is such a pity they eat that stale hostel food through out their primes, or else end up in Mangalorian Hotels where we will not find a curry other than Dondakai (Kolaska) or else the roadside eateries where they end up eating the Veg Fried Rice ( we find hardly some dry leaves and few milligrams of capsicum). Even Indian meat is horribly low in fat and protein and full of toxins.

Jacky Chan once in his interview narrated his thrilling experience while shooting somewhere in US. The shoot was about to take place, then, a couple of Federal Government agents landed there! Surprised for what?

Ha ha! If it were to be India we would have easily anticipated what is in store!

They would have made hue and cry, demanded the permission letter, and threatened to stop the shoot if not? If not??? Hmmmm ….we know well ..Chungi?? (hot money) ha ha! Pay chungi and resume your shoot.

But those agents were present through out the shoot observing whether the crew was following safety norms??

Fine! We can not expect it to happen in India in near future but such frustration would kill our enthusiasm so let’s be optimistic and fight against the maladies.

Finally before concluding let us learn from our fellow animals itself what is kindness and concern?

When a pregnant elephant was trapped in a railway track the accompanied elephants tried their best to push it to safety realising the oncoming train, but failed miserably. The speeding train hit then crushed all the elephants!

This was reported in news papers a few day’s ago!

 Any message to humans?

NOW NO QUALMS AS I AM CONTENT!

NOW NO QUALMS AS I AM CONTENT;

Dear !

I ‘m through the pages of life!

My rendezvous with days

Concluded!

My odyssey of life

Reached the summit

Now glancing the bibliography!

To check my self from where I got

My wisdom and cherished values

My failures and faux pas,

But sure of that SUN rise

Every other morning

But not of myself that I woke up for sure!

And worship the SUN But

Always with optimism

Kept thanking SUN

For well over 80 years!

I spent life

Between good and bad

Evil and devil
Tired of

Preaching merits and demerits to my daughters

Imparting discipline on to my boys

And got flattened between

Emotions and relations!

And got dejected and elated

Between failures and success

There is no certainty in the world

But order in life;

There is no assertion in life

But steadiness in the world

When my off springs flew away

I shared the rest of

My life

With my partner

And enjoyed her companion

More than in my primes

The divinity she had

No one can reinstate

The fondness she had

No one can fulfill

When I lost her

I almost flew with her

But had to heave the life farther

To pay reverence to the Almighty

Now no qualms

As I m content

Now no alms

As I am Gentle!

Now content with this little

To satiate my stomach

This treasure before me

To satiate my smarts!Thanks Lord!
for giving life to my soul
for putting me through the odyssey
yours truely

The liner is still on move!

To navigate to the shore safely

In to the land of
